Since childhood I have had a love affair with the mystical aspects of life, the otherworldly and the sacred forces in nature. Growing up in rural Sweden I noticed that spending time in the woods, as well as being absorbed in a creative process could stop my loneliness and satisfy my intense longing for connection. I suspect it was because both these activities brought me into the grace of the present moment so I could fully experience the aliveness running through me and thereby get a sense of being held and part of Creation. Image making is now something of a spiritual practice for me. I paint in oil, acrylic and make images out of yarn and fabric. I listen to little whispers and inner impulses as I work and when something gets my heart activated I go for it. Unless it is a commission for someone else I generally do not spend much time sketching out the piece beforehand. I may have an overall idea of my intentions, but I enjoy being surprised by what appears and happens along the way and what wants to come through me. Life, as I see it, is a rich mystery to be lived rather than a problem to be solved. My wish is for my artwork to reflect that.

In my art studio in Newport I also teach classes and workshops in Hypnosis, Expressive Art, Rosen Method Bodywork, Massage and Yoga. I do my best to hold a safe space where men and women can relax, feel, be and connect more deeply with themselves, each other and the world. I offer the tools that have been helpful for me personally. It is beautiful to witness the transformation that takes place in people as they allow themselves to own their truth and creativity. I believe we are all creative sparks on this journey to greater consciousness.
